5. MSC Meraviglia
(GT, gross tonnage is the tonnage of the vessel, which is calculated by measuring data from all internal spaces of the vessel. 1 such ton is 2.83 m³)
This cruise ship is owned by a Swiss company MSC Cruises and was built in 2017 at the French shipyard Chantier de l’Atlantic (Loire-Atlantique). For the first season, he operated Mediterranean cruises, including stops in cities such as Civitavecchia, Palermo, Messina, Naples and Genoa, as well as Marseille, Barcelona and Malta. In the future, it will be used on cruises in the Caribbean. The vessel has a length of 315.8 meters, 15 passenger decks, accommodates 4.5 thousand passengers and has a crew of 1,536 people.
4. Oasis of the Seas
One of the first cruise ships of the Oasis series (the largest ships from the American company Royal Caribbean International ). It was built at the Finnish shipyard Aker Finnyards in 2009. In December of the same year, the ship crossed the Atlantic and arrived at Fort Lauderdale (Florida, USA), where it is used for cruises in the Caribbean. At that time, it was the largest cruise ship in the world. It is 361 meters long. This liner has 16 passenger decks, it can accommodate from 5400 to 6300 tourists with 2394 crew. The liner is divided into seven thematic zones. In the “Central Park” there is a real park with more than 12 thousand plants and 56 trees, there is a 750-seat water amphitheater with fountains, towers, diving boards, surf simulators, an ice rink and a large theater. Here is the largest “floating” casino: about 500 slot machines.
3. Allure of the Seas
Another cruise ship from the same American company. It was built in 2009 at the same shipyard as the previous one, in the port of Turku, Finland. Allure of the Seas took the palm from its older brother, becoming the largest in the world in 2010, its length is 362 meters. The capacity and number of crew members remained practically unchanged: 5400 – 6400 passengers and 2384 crew members, 16 passenger decks. The main route of the liner passes through the Caribbean Sea, but in 2015 there was an outbound cruise in the Mediterranean Sea. Entertainment is as varied as on Oasis of the Seas, however, as on all cruise ships of this class. The liner has a powerful 80 kW solar battery with an area of two thousand square meters.
2. Harmony of the Seas
Another cruise ship from Royal Caribbean International was built at the French shipyard Chantier de l’Atlantic (Loire-Atlantique) in 2015. The liner runs across the Caribbean Sea, making “business trips” to the Mediterranean. On this liner, the luxury cabins have wall screens, such “virtual balconies” that show what is around the ship. In total, the ship has 43 types of cabins (a total of 2,774 cabins), ranging from modest 17 square meters without a balcony and ending with Royal Class cabins, which extend over two decks. Thanks to Mitsubishi Air technology, this airliner is 20% more efficient than its “older relatives”, “noise” and fuel consumption are reduced.
1. Symphony of the Seas
This cruise liner practically does not differ from its relatives in length, it has 362.1 meters, but in terms of volume and tonnage it is the largest in the world.
